Music School

Our goal:

Our goal is to foster your child’s love of music and to give children and young people the opportunity to express themselves in a creative way through music, in a safe, friendly and non-competitive environment.

Building musical skills and performing can give enormous personal satisfaction and help build confidence, so our students are learning skills that will help them become happier and more confident people.

Performances:

We host two in-house showcase events each year to allow our students to perform in front of family, friends and peers, and students have the option to perform at local events such as YouthFest or similar if they are interested!

 Lessons:

Individual music lessons for children & young people are held weekly during school terms on several afternoons each week after school.

Lessons are held in our studio in the Youth Centre as part of our Youth Service.

We teach one on one lessons in vocals and various instruments (for example piano/keyboard, ukulele and guitar).

We tailor our lessons to each student’s needs, and students choose their own songs.

Our program structure consists of scales with each instrument, ear training, sight reading, performance skills, chords, rhythm, melody and harmony, dynamics, expressive techniques and pitch extension while singing. Students learn fundamental music concepts and theory.

Teachers:

Our teachers are professional and experienced musicians.

 Cost:

  • $30 for 30 minutes individual lesson
  • $15 one off enrolment fee and starter pack

We are an approved Creative Kids Provider, so you can use your vouchers to pay for lessons.
