Our group shares skills and information on all aspects of spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, knitting and crocheting. We aim to increase our knowledge and interest in textiles. We often have workshops to learn new skills. Members use natural fibres such as wool, alpaca, mohair, cotton, silk etc and often experiment with manufactured and synthetic fibres (bamboo, soy, tencel etc), either in natural colours or hand dyed, blending for interesting textures. The group demonstrates its skills at many local events, as well as organising the Spinning Competition each year at the Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association Show. Many members show off their talents with entries in the local shows at Castle Hill and Hawkesbury.
